Blogs 4 and 5

 We presented many different challenges and experiences than we want originally did. I started to look back and see what I could’ve done differently and then the situation and I have improved not only my lingo but my allocating of fun skills. I think Hawken school could really get involved with these organizations whether or not they’re in Cleveland Ohio River this beach California as they are shaping our communities in hopes for the better especially being a nonprofit there are no far as economic gains. I wanna hopefully bring attention to this matter and I had since my work with the Geller fund. During my meetings in the Geller fund we learned how to allocate funds and put them to charitable organizations that would benefit from the money. But I have realize there is so many greater organizations that we could really be looking into ones that not only can provide a scholarship to someone to go to school but could provide housing for a family of three who is living on the street. The question of what is surprise me the most is very interesting as I have two main stream answers one the amount of hatred towards homeless people is not only extreme but very violent in many situations. I wanna share a little story from a Venice Beach Council meeting that recently happened in which I learned about people who believe that they should ship homeless people into the middle of nowhere I’m buses and let them battle out for who could survive. This may seem like a extremely crazy idea and that’s what I initially thought when hearing it. So many people strongly believe that if that is a good option. There are many people that are against homelessness but in the same way there are many people that are for it to an extreme extent creating affordable housing and turning one unit houses into apartments and affordable living situations. 

Continuing with my last story there of been a lot of characters on these meetings there’s a man whose name is Billy goat who talks and dresses like a goat and asks for more green space. You may ask why is this important to my Hochman project and why is this important to my focus on homelessness. I just wanted to outline the distractions as well as the interesting array of people that can attend these meetings as well as comment at these meetings. The board itself is made up of a small group of people who focus on going through grants as well as proposals for residential housing as well as changes to the community. I have grown so much over the past week.
